Seems we are about to reach a breaking point. I expect dam will burst with mass attrition of managers and supervisors. Supervisors are SICK AND TIRED of executive response to every problem being to “talk to your supervisor” when we are not empowered to do anything to address the causes of attrition and discontent.

Go ahead, hot shot.
Omg, love this post. Seeing the earnings might have been my last straw. Our company cannot make that much money, treat employees like sh*t, and ask anyone (supervisors or peers) to bandaid with lip service. It is highly dysfunctional. And it is not just the pay. The whole culture is broken. Pay is just the intensive for people to stick around in a broken culture….if they can stomach it.
Today will be the final nail in the coffin for many. Last one out...
@wla+1jqihwh2 good point. Same thing it comes to pay raise. Local management (e.g. out of the USA) even at LCM level have to call Dad to check if they can grant a 500$ one-shot premium.
The heavily centralised way of running their business, with no latitude given to operational echelons at ground level will eventually lead EM into a wall. Sooner or later. See the Russian army in Ukraine...
I agree, I think today's result with nothing for the employee population will lead to a capitulation of resignations over the next 2 quarters. Straw that broke etc...
My own direct supervisor told me flat out he is extremely frustrated because they expect them to keep everyone happy with no ability to do so.
I honestly feel bad for them because like most others the team you are on and your supervisor get along and enjoy working with each other. Just sucks they are expected to make chicken salad out the chicken sh-t provided by leadership.
I’m planning to just walk out and not even give two weeks notice. Fu-k them all. Good luck running the Permian without me as-----s. I hope other supervisors follow my lead.
Executives basically saying let them eat cake. Fu-k them all.
Yep, even refinery manager saying it is out of their hands in terms of headcounts. Why have a ref manager if they can't even say how many ppl they need to run the site.......
AMEN!
