I see lawsuits. So many lawsuits.
There is not a criteria. There is no formula. There will be a budget for your group and with that information they can determine who many they have to cut to make their budget. Then they will look at who that have to keep skill wise to get the areas in your group running effectively and from the folks left over they will rack and stack them and cut the appropriate folks.
If your some groups or projects will be eliminated all together so those folks will be redeployed or cut.
All these folks will be notified at the latest early q1.
That is what was communicated officially so that is what they plan on doing. They pushed out raises a quarter so they won't have to give more stock and more pay to folks that are going to be laid off saving more money. They could not do that and just lay more people off to pay for all that. It is what it is.
Yep, no emails. It will be done through 1:1s
since employees can use emails to reverse analyze layoff criteria and bring about a discrimination lawsuit. Like it happened in 2016...with a out of court settlement in 2018.
1:1 aligns with CP's CPM : " with respect, dignity and empathy"
There is not a central email day. It varies by business group and some groups have to cut more than others. Best thing is goto your group quarterly meetings and then watch for one on one with your manager.
Are they only doing 1:1s for those impacted? That was what they did in 2016. At other times, they did it for everyone so the meeting itself wasn’t a tell.
I believe it's about mid-Nov but before Thanksgiving.
