Cloud needs to go

Was one of the unfortunate (mandated) early adopters of The Cloud, coming off WAVE and it's awful. Constant computer updates whether at home or in office. Stays connected for days, random issues with microsoft products not working. The technology roll out is abysmal. Avoid as long as you can.

It’s mind boggling that cloud pc is so bad. It’s all Microsoft, no third party. And it’s 100x worse. Have fun connecting at home and office each day and new cubes in the office. Each connection is a joy of 15 mins wasted

This could be if you're classified as a regulated user. I was classified as one in tech for a while so mgmt could tick off some compliance check-box for FINRA. Whenever I tried to screenshot in teams, zoom, and some other apps, the screen would go dark and I be able to screenshot.

When I switched groups and was no longer a regulated user, I could take all the screenshots I want. I imagine (don't know 100% sure) that it's controlled by security group membership.

As much as it pains me to say it, if this is happening to you and you're not supposed to regulated user, either talk to your manager or the helpdesk .

Cloud pc is a disgrace. Wave started bad but became usable. Cloud pc is worse than wave ever was and zero improvements made. The rollout is truly the worst I’ve seen , that team should be ashamed

The Authenticator app has nothing to do with the ban on using personal phones for work. You can use a personal phone for work calls. You can use BYOD apps on your personal phone such as Teams.

You cannot send emails from your personal account, text messages or electronic communications that are work related from your phone.

This is for security and some users are regulated, which means all electronic communications must be preserved. Banning the use of personal phones for work outside approved BYOD communications channels addresses both issues.

In all fairness, cloud computing is a bit more responsive than WAVE. However, both will not allow for doing screenshots from MS Teams.

I just rolled back from VDI to the HP laptop. I never want VDI again!

The part that’s scary is that we all signed an attention saying we weren’t going to use our personal phones for work and now we are being forced to use our personal phones for work to authenticate the login request. I smell this as a justification for upper management to get rid of any employee they wish for causing a “security breach,” albeit, thru no fault of their own.

I still can’t take screen prints with Teams using VDI. That is required as part of my regular duties to document walkthroughs.

Well said. If it wasn't such a daily annoyance, I'd be embarrassed for Tech. Poorly executed dumpster fire.
