Will there be more cuts? How worried should I be?

If you're here to engage in arguments, you might want to reconsider reacting to posts by the person claiming to be "Mr. 42." It seems like they're intentionally provoking reactions for their own amusement. Responding only fuels their behavior, much like poking an insect to watch it react. Simply put, this behavior could be described as sadistic.
The best course of action—though I admit I'm not following my own advice here—is to ignore such posts and move on. Think of it like encountering dog fe--s on your path: you step around it and continue, rather than trying to correct the dog or its owner.
Alternatively, are you "Mr. 42" responding to your own posts to create a conversation with yourself? If so, that's quite an idle pastime.

BNYM was never more than my second job, which I held only to smooth out the business cycle for my own company.

As you’ve heard many times.

  1. you’re a clown. You talk about how well you were treated and how you succeeded & all these great things you accomplished, but you told us all at a level K at 120k.

I’m also. A K and I make more than that in PIttsburgh and I do as a little as possible at this point.
Your nothing special. Especially for all the bragging you do.

Why in the world would somebody who no longer works at this dump post nonsense repeatedly on every thread day after day… What a waste of an existence.

I’m sure he has no hobbies or friends based on how he acts here but good grief - find a purpose.

For the record, if facts count for anything here, our corporate headcount continues to climb as we hire better prepared and educated employees.

Don’t believe me. Study the quarterly earnings and head count. Ir you can’t survive in a growing exciting corporation you are not cut out for a career.

Don’t listen to this garbage. 42 can glance at a post assess a worthless post.

So why the heck did you wait so long to start a career search?

I would never have worked even a week here or anywhere that treated me poorly. And in 42 years I have to say that I was treated exceedingly well and my work ethic was stellar and always rewarded very well.

But then again I love Finance, technology and complex projects and the Bank loved my results. That’s why 42 is the only one on the board that has never slandered BNYM here.

Multiple coworkers in Nashville have been laid off, and it has been hinted that more will come in June. These people moved from New York to support the production data center and are now getting laid off.

What is it Samuel Clemens (‘Mark Twain’) used to say??? Better to keep your mouth shut and appear st—upid, than to open it and remove all doubt.
You dear child are a stupe. No one with family or bills or geared to success ‘loves’ severence.
Only you, because you are a lipid brain.

Good chance? No. Unless you have a solid connection and most don’t, you are nearly guaranteed to not have severance cover your expenses until you find a job. In fact, there is a ‘good chance’ you will have debts and evaporated savings until you get something. And the more senior, older and more money you made, the longer it will take. That’s the holes this place leaves us in. Worst part? When you are down and out of a job, interviewers know it and you usually get less.

Yes same here as there is a good chance they will not pay severance now to carry you over till find a new job .
It's almost criminal how they are not honoring the separation benefit

This place is a sinking ship. I've been here over 15 years and am actively interviewing, trying to get out as soon as possible. If you're remotely worried about being laid off, I'd suggest starting to look now.
