Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Hundreds of Job Reqs submitted

We just received hundreds of job reqs. Scanning through them quickly the majority are for technology services. Consolidated and submitted by a single source. The reqs are all in the U.S. and very few are in hub locations. We were not given a heads up. This does not align with what has been communicated. We don’t even have the staff to review and enter them all. More on this later.

we just heard about someone in the Anthony org getting a letter saying their job was moving to Dallas, and they were welcome to re-apply for it if there otherwise they're off payroll... so guessing this is related?

If they really wanted to keep that person, they would have given the person the option to move (with or without relocation $). But the whole reapply thing should tell them what they need to know.

Harris/Walz are two of the biggest imbeciles on the planet, would have been an embarrassment to the United States! Not to mention the fact that Walz is a card carrying Communist, sure bring them both back because they would be so much better for AT&T employees! Most commenting work in IT. Which is why we know the real impact from offshoring and H1B programs. We work with them daily. I tell my kids not to go into IT. It’s been a race to the bottom for over a decade now.

All of you whiners should have gotten some form of IT training while you were employed by AT&T! The problem is, you got complacent and thought your paper pushing job would be here until retirement. You thought it was an easy paycheck with good benefits! Well guess what, you were all wrong! You should have never stopped training because AT&T was willing to pay for your training. You could have gotten trained on anything you wanted and T would have paid under the TAP! Now, all you're doing is whining about RTO and how AT&T is laying off people that don't deserve to be laid off! "Deserves got nothing to do with it!"

Couple questions/thoughts

"We" who? There are a lot of 'we's in that post. Who is this 'we' who got job reqs? Who is this 'we' who were not given a heads up and who doesn't have the staff to review such reqs? What is the single source of the reqs?

Also,

That's not what the original post said. It said, "all in the U.S. and very few are in hub locations." Though I wonder if OP meant "BUT very few are in hub locations."
