Innslake “campus” Glen Allen VA

Does anyone have any insight into when the Innslake buildings in Glen Allen will be shut down and technology FTEs displaced? Specifically wondering about technology since it’s not a hub or campus location for technology like Charlotte, Hudson Yards, Shore View, Chandler, or Columbus.

There have been so many rough timeframes floated around I’m curious to see what people have been told or think.

So many draw down displacements since 2019 and operating on a skeleton crew now.

WF doesn't really care if their former buildings are desirable or sell. We've dumped so many buildings below market value over the years it's not even funny. If there's not a huge market for this building, they'll just dump it cheap. Someone will buy it, and HY really doesn't care if it's at a loss. Cost of doing business in their minds.

Truist could use a Customer service Call Center in Richmond. Other big business could use it, I.E. Genworth Financial, Capital One. Even Phillip Morris's Call Federal Credit Union moved their call center from Commerce Road (bad part of town), to also vacant building on Innslake (great part of town). Look up Mr. Shaia who is a commercial real estate business man in Richmond. He could probably acquire 4340 Innslake drive and resell it for profit for his business. Innsbrook is a very desirable office park. I for one will miss it when I'm displaced.

No way can you compare a bank building to Innslake. There aren't too many companies looking to set up a call center this large in Richmond. All companies are going through some sort of location strategy and I doubt a large company is looking to stand up something in Richmond. The most likely outcome is a developer buys it to redevelop into housing.

An entity tied to the Shaia family, particularly Alan Shaia, recently purchased the former Wells Fargo bank branch at 122 E. Grace St. for $1.6 million, city ...

There's most likely lots of Richmond business people and Richmond businesses that would buy that Innslake call center.

Thank you for asking. I think we're all wondering. See the second comment, it's happening. Happened in the Innslake site, April 1, 2025.

There's consistently fewer and fewer cars in the parking lot. Good people here one day gone the next, with just a hello, so & so is no longer with the company, we wish them well. They displaced two excellent tech people this last Tuesday, April 1. They keep us in the dark, but it's dwindling down fast. We just keep working until they tell us we're no longer employed, and then that vague announcement will go out "so & so is no longer with the company, we wish them well."

It's LOB based. They won't be able to sell that building very quickly. If everyone is waiting on the building to be sold, it will be a couple years. It's a very large building and not too much interest in a town like Richmond.
