Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Jeff McElfresh

On behalf of all managers in Dallas, Atlanta and Jersey, AND ALL OTHER LOCATIONS, we demand an apology and your immediate resignation. Your closing comments on your town hall this 8th of April were unprofessional, reprehensible, and completely unbecoming of an officer and a shareholder of AT&T.

You are not above corporate HR policy and your hateful words have violated numerous policies. We hereby declare that you have created a HOSTILE WORK ENVIRONMENT, and we call on HR address this matter IMMEDIATELY before end of business day this 9th of April, 2025.

If the hostile work environment against managers is not addressed by HR, as outlined in HR Policy, you will leave us no choice but to escalate this matter. We will await your response TOMORROW in a company wide email response to address this matter.

“I can't leave because my skills are outdated and I really can't get another good job elsewhere.”

Is this Jeff or Jeremy? I wouldn’t blame either one of you for posting this. The important thing to know is that either one of you would be perfectly capable as a level 2 Associate Director. Tool bags.

Someone pinned up a16x20 (two 8x10) printouts of McElfresh as Charlie the Tuna fish wearing a vest. LMAOOO. I think it was created with GenAI or they really have artistic talent. Whoever did it, you are our hero. I took a picture of it on my cell phone and will treasure it, Did that rat fink finger stink fish man ever apologize?

Be thankful that you have indoor plumbing, TP, city water and air conditioning. The union technicians still use out houses and leaves, or a piece of newspaper.

So with Jeff wearing the vest, was that a call out that managers can go ph--k themselves before the company tanks? # stock market # Rosegarden

As stated multiple times, McSelfish is a Stink clone. Perhaps worse based on his free thought yesterday.

Nothing will change in the foreseeable future.

I would like to take this opportunity to point out, that if nothing changes, McElfresh will be the CEO of the company in 2026. Stankey has moved to chairman of the board, which is how they prepare for retirement.

It sure sounds like our future leader would prefer a unionized management workforce.

There is no fighting this.

  1. Leave
  2. Tell customers why, with facts not emotion, they need to know who they are doing business with
  3. Work hard at another company that values employees

That’s how you “fight back” by taking back control of you.

You all have a choice, that’s the choice to LEAVE. Get away from this POS and join a competitor

Well you can flee or you can fight. We know what you would choose. Don't cut up the good bedsheets to make your white flag.

I hate my life and would rather just complain on anonymous Internet forum than have to take any action to make improvements and regain ownership of my life.

Donning that vest was his Micheal Dukakis tank commander moment. Completely inauthentic guy with zero leadership qualities as demonstrated by his rant at the end of that townhall. Commenting that managers working in admin buildings that are overcrowded, poorly maintained with dirty bathrooms, running out of Toilet paper, hand towels , bugs, mice should be grateful and graceful because others are working in dilapidated buildings?? Who’s responsible for Those working conditions Jeff? You are…Stankey is. Take some responsibility. Whose genius idea was it to force people into office locations without sufficient seating? You did..own up to the poor execution of RTO. We don’t care about RTO except for the cr-p office conditions while you sit in the Glass house in Dallas.

It was a pathetic display that make you look small, petty, tone deaf and arrogant. You want to improve the culture? Improve your own understanding and attitude. You owe the hard working people of AT&T an apology for that ran.

Very insulting from a small man out of touch with reality.

Given the current climate, were his comments tone deaf and insensitive to the issues many/ most of his employees have been dealing with?

Absolutely, 100%.

But all of this talk about them being "hateful" and "reprehensible" is WAY over the top. It wasn't that.

It was just another misstep from a guy way over his head. A guy who has remarkable ascended to that position with not one iota of ANY leadership quality. The man has the charisma of a soap dish. You can tell he was coached up to go hard at the RTO stuff, put it to bed once and for all. Hence the fake tough guy and feigned anger approach.

For those of you that missed, he essentially feigned anger at the complainers, aligning himself with outside network folks talking about how they have to respond in all conditions, 24 x 7, etc. Complete red herring argument. Apples and oranges. Ineffective and unauthentic, and I'd give him an F for his performance.

There are other threads addressing his insults and disdain for management RTO workers. Go read them. Everyone is furious. They have responded to his last 5 minute railing, rant of hate and then thanked employees only in the three hub locations for their dedication. Someone needs to transcribe his final words and post here.

Man - who let the McElresh fan club loose on this thread? WTF are you all defending with his elitist, out of touch remarks and blatant insults? You can defend RTO all you want, and enjoy the 8x5 drudgery, but do not have any self-respect defending the leadership team that has such obvious disregard its employee base? We need to hold our leadership to a standard commensurate with their pay and it starts with paying us the respect that we as managers deserve.

*** no doubt at ALL Jeffery is busy as a mad man on a vengeance typing away anonymous messages.. Hi Jeff. oh yeah Phukk off tu-d, you always wear such ill fitting clothes. it matches your persona.

“Someone needs a DEI rep. Or their mommy. Yes Jeff shows he doesn’t care but your whinny behavior is shameful.”

Whining?! This is a constructive response calling on HR to do what they are obligated to in investigating claims of unprofessional, insulting, threatening behavior - in this case in the company of thousands of witnesses which compounds the risk and corporate liability.

Whinny behavior would be equivalent to what you’re doing.
