Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Wells Fargo has mastered layoffs

Every other Tuesday, just enough people to rattle teams but not enough to interest the media. No headlines, no blowback. It has become the new normal. Even employees have stopped reacting. It just is.

I only wish leadership had mastered the rest of the business as well as they mastered this.

7 years will take a good bit of luck, but I hope you make it. I need about 3 more, then the severance can come at any time. Not leaving without it.

He's how to play the game @ WFC. While you're here - focus on your own development - which should be focused on your next role that you want or think you want. By development I mean anything that increases YOUR market value - certificates, skills, capabilities, learning. You should not spend more than 2-3 years in a role here. Have a plan - get in, develop and get out. Your next role will give you a big bump - you are not going to get that with an internal move. If you stick around you'll be viewed as a chump - and get low yearly bumps and will be at risk of getting let go. Do your job while your here - but don't bust ur A$$. Put all your extra effort into your own development.

It’s not outsourcing. We are just redeploying jobs to other WF footprints.

if facebook lays off 100 people it makes the cover of the NY times, but WF laying 10s of thousands off as well as outsourcing 10s of thousands of jobs doesn't get any mention.

We are the boiled frog. I'm close to retirement but I really feel bad for anyone here trying to build a career. Those days are done at WF.

Where is the crazy risk fella who claims big cuts are around the corner?

Not sure why you think this is all a secret. It's been going on for at least 4 years and they talk about it on every earnings call. They even include the company headcount and cite the reduction . Listen to the next one and you'll hear it all.
