In one of the groups moved to hourly. It is not what you think. If you work 5 mins of overtime without prior approval they may fire you. Nothing changes other than you have to clock in and out like Homer Simpson and do all manner of extra cr-p in Infor. If you work 39 hrs and 59 minutes, they can fire you. If you work 40 hours and 1 minute without approval they can fire you.

Yes att went around and reclassified other jobs as non exempt after that. But, the reason the jobs were reclassified was because their specific job duties didn't qualify for exempt. It wasn't because of tracking hours. As far as I know, it is legal to track and set hours for exempt employees.

AT&T employees in California filed a class action lawsuit claiming unpaid OT and on-call hours while classified as EXEMPT. ATT LOST and there was a $28M settlement .
All employees in the CA suit and across the company (country) in impacted titles were moved to NON-EXEMPT and ALL OT REQUIRED PRIOR APPROVAL.
I was in the impacted title and moved to Non-Exempt Manager status years ago.

If ATT is treating you as Non-Exempt while classifying you as Exempt there is precedent !
It helped case was filed in an "employee friendly state" .

“It’s going to be easy for attorney’s to prove we should are misclassified as exempt. Truckloads of overtime backpay incoming.”

There is zero question that ATT misrepresents a second levels job duties to avoid overtime payments. The best part is, their own time recording system proves they owe me hours of OT for years. They’re sc--wed.

One thing is for sure, he admitted to tracking management employee hours. We all knew this, but one more fat f-k fish head admitting it to thousands of employee witnesses just strengthens the class action lawsuit. They’re all so stupid. It’s going to be easy for attorney’s to prove we should are misclassified as exempt. Truckloads of overtime backpay incoming.

“His last two words were “Thank You”!”

Says the loser trying to justify his disgusting rant. He’s a pig and needs to be fired.

Happy to work extra in solidarity with the union folks, if you’re going to pay me OT like the union. 1.5x for 41-50, 2x for 50+. They would go broke. You track me and make me work and do the job of an hourly employee, yet you want to claim me exempt. I think we need to file a class action after this and claim misclassification.

The “leaders” are POS weak, pathetic con artists. They are removing people daily,, they’ve figured out “no packages” for years of service.. figure some BS lame means to get rid of us. If you’re in sales, saddle ya with an unattainable quota.. then put you on PIP. If you’re in service let’s pip ya out on another lam sh?t. There are no leaders just yes POS.. the ball is round and the wizard will be seen for what this shell company is and will eventually crash. Fk YOu JM and all you minions.

Leave it to AT&T leadership to come up with an even WORSE defense of RTO. Guess they finally figured out they'd been exposed for their "collaboration" ploy. Teams metrics are all you need to prove that work is still conducted virtually even with people sitting in hubs. Priceless!

Sure hope AT&T has enough of the losers posting on this thread in support of RTO who clearly have no opportunities outside of this POS company - because they are going to have to pick up a sh** ton of work from the employees who have an actual spine and some sense of self-worth who aren't going to put up with the BS rhetoric leadership is spewing in defense of unjustified layoffs, over-the-top policing, incorrect reporting, ineffective management, shoddy work conditions, and unsupportive HR teams. That's the short list btw.

How's that kool-aid tasting?

PLEASE someone be brave enough to make his rant go viral.

Customers need to know this.
Job seekers NEED to know this.

Please. Someone be brave and post this on LinkedIn or have recorded this and give it anonymously to the media.

Do not let this POS get away with it.

It has to be exhausting trying to defend the indefensible.

"Collaboration and consolidation" have now given way to "hey our union folks have to put up with a bunch of ish (that we've put in place) so why shouldn't managers too?"

Imagine trying to defend that all while dealing with a micrope--s too?

Tough sledding.

Your job should determine if you can work from home. Fibers slicers (who are union) cannot work from home because they cannot splice fiber from home. ignore the fact they don't want union people to work from home because they hate the union and want to control every minute they work (which is why they are tracked like they are )

It is that simple.

Oh lets not forget that he really didn't address the "tracked hourly" statement very well... in some states that makes you and HOURLY employee, eligible for OVERTIME if they are time clocking EXEMPT Managers. I would actually be OK with that, I put in my 8 hour time but the times I've worked hours over for a deadline, or gotten the weekend or night calls for outage resolution. DAMN STRAIGHT YEAH WE SHOULD GET OVERTIME PAY. JEFFERY you gonna put up or stfu?

With the emotional side removed-

We are RTO’ing because we stand in solidarity with our union employees who were essential workers and never had the chance to work from home.

The union employees with ability to work OT, time and half, double time and better benefits don’t have the same “flexibility “ as management. We should feel grateful for the opportunity to be 24/7/365. We aren’t really worth what we are paid.

How dare we not take into account and recognize that corporate hasn’t spent any money making any work locations (other than corporate HUBs) a reasonable safe or comfortable work environment.

He seems to think we should shut up because we have it made.

He also said techs are tracked by the hour and they like it/ it shows improvement or some such bs. Because they are tracked everybody else should be too.

Meaning techs are in a union over being treated like cr-p and you are not so su-k it. Join a union if you don't like it.

He also said people in management would not work in the same building techs do because they are so run down. I.E full of bird or rat fe--s or roaches. (I deal with techs and managers in wireline and know this is true)

He said a bunch of BS and only addressed in room staged questions and 2 of the 74 suited live questions that had 600+ up votes.

At the end he said because you work in an office you don't work hard and need to sit across a table from your peers.

He is tone deaf and clueless. What table am I sitting at when I cover 25% of a State for aomw stuff and the whole State for others.
