This would depend on location and your department. In the UK Good Friday and Easter Monday are public holidays

It’s incredible how condescending some people are. Congrats you are a dinosaur and have worked here too many years. You don’t have to take it out on newer employees who had it off at their previous employer!

Only those that followed NASDAQ holidays (Asset Servicing) had Good Friday off. I believe the custody side was always open. This changed a couple years ago when Juneteenth was added. Now BNY just added an extra floating holiday in its place. There’s not much to do that day since the books are closed. It’s so d-mb.

It’s not that simple as you make it.

In Trust we worked when Markets were open. For Bankers we follow the Federal reserve schedule.

Always surprised that people here ask such stupid questions.

So many clueless people.....Good Friday was a Fed holiday up until the early 80's when Reagan exchanged it for Veteran's day. The "bank" has not had it off for 40 years but the workers dealing with Wall Street instead of the Fed had it off until a few years ago. Now we don't have off for Good Friday, Columbus Day OR Veteran's day.....depending on your line of business you have to "work" but may not be able to DO any "work" those days.

We used to get that day off (Asset Servicing) but they replaced it with Juneteenth years ago.

Not a bank (FRB) holiday, never has been. It’s a FINRA/trading holiday, so Pershing used to have off, prior to Juneteenth.

No. Lost that day ever since we got June 19th off. God forbid we get an extra holiday.
