Word out of Pittsburgh is BNY currently has a hiring freeze. Any truth to this? I also hear movement within BNY is near impossible.

Why would u move when you'd just be the next termination target?
In Manchester, UK, we also have hiring freeze on many reqs. Unless we have made an offer, we can't currently hire.
This will not stop BNY from hiring new CIOs and senior leadership directors however. Ya see people, you need big talk and big salaried dreamers. Working people not so much. Any cancelled job listings will still appear on the active job list for ages too.
Yes, practically all reqs, if not all, are currently frozen and pending an EC review. This will be happening over the course of April, after which I’d expect many will get unpaused, but some will be cancelled. We’ve agreed with investors to headcount targets (as most companies do) as a way to show we’re in control of expense growth. We have ~2500 reqs right now and we’re over that agreed target. Either the target or the reqs need to give. I think that’s what’s being determined. It’ll probably be a bit of both.
