Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

wilmington de site closure ??

I hate that this company lies about everything. The building is completely empty and it seems like ppl are being fired left and right. What’s really going on? C’mon people show some backbone and tell us the truth.

Woodland park is the epitome of BNY leadership and senseless waste. A facility that was once critical and vital and had a lot invested in it was completely demolished after Thanksgiving. And our people, once important and vital, and a lot invested with business and for clients, getting systematically demolished.
Robin and the board uglier all the time.

Wealth Management has an office in Greenville, DE. I think it's still open.

Is there another office in DE? I thought they had strict rules regarding Delaware Trust, like the trustee needs to be in DE.

Pennington is slated to be closed in 2026 - so the move to Pennington is false - not even speculative

This is the trap of corporate America today. If everyone walked out for a week, together, the higher ups would have no clue what to do. They can’t lay everyone off at once, the optics would look terrible, and they’d realize who has the upper hand. Unfortunately, the trap is that 95% of people can’t and won’t do this because of debt and other obligations like a family, a mortgage, student loans, etc. The harsh reality is we are just an expense to them and all they want to do is cut expenses. I hope everyone leaves this place. Our Con Executive Officer is a fraud, look up his legal issues. I hope everyone leaves for greater pastures and brings other good employees with them. Charlie ruined this place, RV and team put the dirt on the b0dies. Good luck all.

Oriskany is owned by them and sits empty in a nice location for 1.5 years. Pa has been locations when they only need one and many other locations before and after oriskany have closed too yet they lease in high cost areas then complain staff works from home

Just 1 year ago, our IT support was 80% US/American. Now it’s 80% India and 20% US. Seems like workday starts with 7:00 am meetings and ends at 7:00 pm with normal course of business. The trend was predictable in that anyone of the tech folks that asked questions about future / strategic/ agile/ etc, became a target . Then they were replaced with an India based person .

You seem intelligent. You have basically posted what is going on and what will be. Look at Wexford recently. Look at the plans for Everett MA. What became of Oriskany. 500 Grant street in Pittsburgh. Etc etc. Gimmicks like block chain with BLK, AI, Eliza, moves to India. The current senior levels think this company should have less than half the employees it does.
