Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

This is what ai hate about RTO

It’s Sunday morning and I have a touch of the loose poops. Ordinarily if I wake up in the morning on Monday and there is still a little residual grumbling, I can just work from home where i’m close to my own bathroom. Now I have to take a full day off. AT&T gets to pay me for a whole day. It seems so wasteful when I can be perfectly productive at home, aside from running to the bathroom some extra times and sometimes in the middle of a meeting. No way I can risk the long drive in and back though. What does L3 and above think about this? Seems to me AT&T is spending more money now in situations as this one. For the dum dum guys, no, I don’t want to quit. Why should I when I’m being paid to p-o.

I’m suffering from a serious case of “imposter syndrome” and am afraid that when I return to the office I will be found out as incompetent and incapable of doing my job. Until now, I’ve been able to hide under the cloak of “virtual anonymity” while working at home. Sadly, I fear my time is up!

Sent an email to my Director this morning letting him know i’m taking PAID TIME OFF, not a vacation day. My Daughter has a cross country meet at 4:30 PM. I would typically leave work at 3:15 PM after putting in a full 8 hours, but now, because I will be shorted on my presence report, I’ll put the cost on AT&T instead of me. They always cut their nose to spite their face.

"And then you are going to have to start actually doing some work."

It is always interesting to see people openly admit that they cannot work without being in an office environment where they are monitored. You should have never been allowed to "graduate" middle school.

“I get so nervous about having to actually return to the office and fight traffic, then fight for a parking space and a desk, all while being monitored, that I can hardly stand it! My heart is racing,”
And then you are going to have to start actually doing some work.

I have a mild cold and instead of working and driving into the office I’m taking a sick day. I’m sure they will be running reports soon on how many sick days, caregiver, and other days you’re taking and using that to put you on the surplus list.

be thankful, you got a day not dealing with the BS.

I now to do the same thing, take a day off when I could be working from home but not good enough that I might be coughing or potentially infecting someone sitting 12 inches away from me.

If it's collaboration they want by packing people into spaces, I give them collaboration by not infecting my fellow workers and taking a free day off.

Got to love not having a designated seat and searching for an available desk ever single day!

I get so nervous about having to actually return to the office and fight traffic, then fight for a parking space and a desk, all while being monitored, that I can hardly stand it! My heart is racing, I am sweating profusely and my stomach is in knots! Thanks a lot AT&T. This is no way to live!

Chug some Pepto Bismol tonight and then again in the morning instead of coffee.

Then head on into the office as usual.

Done.

Drink less alcohol since Monday morning residual grumbling sounds like it happens more often than a blue moon.

MANY of us feel SICK to our stomachs on Sunday regarding the idea of going back to RTO for the new week, searching for an available desk to sit at, searching for a parking spot, reviewing inaccurate presence reports, EVERYTHING that goes along with this charade called “COLLABORATION” while we get on the SAME MS Teams calls that we were in while WFH.
What a joke!
RTO= Layoff Exercise.
