Has anyone had their remote accommodation for medical declined?

@az+1jrtsxkvn - I'm disabled and I can go out, but that doesn't mean I can walk half a mile to my desk and a long way to the restroom and breakroom. There's a difference between parking by the door and going in a restaurant, and trying to navigate an office like CIC.

If they can accommodate you in an office, they will and revoke your WFH exception.

There are a lot of "accommodations" out there that have absolutely ruined for those that truly need. Examples of frivolous requests are bright lights or noise or smells, etc. I have no idea where some of these people are finding doctors to sign off on some of this cr-p. They make it seem like they can't even leave the house, but I would bet they have no problem going to restaurants and what not

I did not fight it even though i have a disability but WF is only required to offer you an accommodation. I am wheel chair bound and i have handicap parking and a reserved cubical that is accommodated for my needs.

I hear a lot of people say oh i have this and i have that. I am sorry for all of you but if you go out ever there is no reason you cant manage to get to an office as often (1x or 2x) there is no act that will protect you from getting fired if your accommodation is good faith.

I hadn’t bothered with a medical accommodation since I was approved for full remote. I started the process and was specifically told by HR that it would not save my job if it was approved. FWIW

Mine was just re-approved, but the other two on my team both had theirs declined on the annual review and they both need to RTO.

Yes. Was hired remote long before Covid, then the RTO for all wave hit. I was able to secure a year of fully remote after they reviewed my medical accommodation request initially. When they re-reviewed it (several months ago-and they will do this annually supposedly) I now must RTO 1x per week.
