Why is the building so dead and quiet

You mean the fake headquarters is just an empty shell?
@c4+1jrybb2e5 They’re hiring in HY because Charlie is there and building the empire. Years ago NYC was a no hire/limited hire because of cost. I think we had 42nd st and that’s it plus a place or two in NJ. Then some changes happened a few NY people were hired. I remember one guy was from NY but moved to Phoenix or visited quite often. He hired his entire leadership team out of NYC.
Re 333 being empty It ain’t just there. Chandler is nowhere near as busy as it had been. Either people aren’t coming in or they’re gone. There are many empty cubes on my floor even midweek now.
They are closing 420 Montgomery so may be moving all the employees to 333 Market.
CEO personal preference. Also, HY may be a hub, but high level authorization is needed to actually hire there. Most paper shuffling admin roles are not eligible, they'd rather hire in cheaper places.
Who is left there and why would anyone care? We will experience major changes likes those you have never seen before as soon as asset cap is lifted.
I can't imagine NYC is much different than SF in terms of cost. If efficiency was the main reason, why Hudson Yards and all the NY hiring?
Yes
Has nothing to do with the current president. HY looks at the SF regime as not only being irrecoverably tainted by scandals and mismanagement, but also incredibly inefficient due to the extremely high pay / cost of living. SF will dwindle away to nothing, just like Portland, until there's nothing left but sales people.
If the building is quiet it's likely because no one is doing their 3 days in the office. Most downtown SF staff groups have moved there.
Why the h_rd on for 333 market?
India
Considering this administration is trying its hardest to hurt the blue states but enacting policies that will destroy red states faster, expect that 333 Market will last longer than Des Moines or any other hub in flyover country.
For sure, or moved to NY
