Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Where are people landing

So many jobs are being cut and outsourced. For people who were laid off where are you finding work?

Still can't find anything...it's been 16 months. Turns out that as you climb the ladder you become "over qualified" for most everything.

LinkedIn is the way to go, I used to use Indeed but LinkedIn has better jobs listed.
There are dozens of remote jobs listed for Sr IT auditors there, I even get contacted often. Too bad for me I’m manager level.
You have to get there early because they get flooded quickly.

Was displaced late last year, found a job rather quickly with Navy Federal CU. Great company btw.

Monster is a joke
LinkedIn is great for modern, 'active' companies looking for people

My advice is to be proactive. Start checking the website of every major employer in your area. It is very common for Careers pages to have a 'Talent Community' where you can upload your resume and create a profile on THEIR system. When they have an opening they will check their 'talent community' first.

Also, if you have someone specific skills, look for companies who could utilize those skills. If they do not have a Talent Community, go ahead and email them a resume with a cover letter. Even if you want your email to serve as your cover letter, include the text of your email as pg 1 of your joint cover letter/resume so they won't get separate on their end

i've been applying to everything under the sun for the last 6 months and haven't even had a nibble. yes, i tailor my resume to every single job. it is a heinous market right now with hundreds and hundreds applying for the same job. a lot of bots as well, from what i've read.
we are also up against the indian/foreign workers who have "masters degrees" and lie like politicians on their resumes.
also doesn't help if you are over 50.
i know a lot of people pray to get laid off from WF, but i'd advise against it.
its pretty tough out here right now, especially when your severance runs out
