Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Not just cell customers leaving

26 year employee, just got RIF’d. I realize why this happened. I moved my cell service because VZN couldn’t give their employees a decent discount. They are hemorrhaging customers

My team supported the USPS, we used to have at least 6 on a day shift. as of today, it’s 2!!! To support the entire Postal Service Network. I guarantee they will be leaving too. VZN doesn’t give a cr-p about it’s customer base unless they are using the latest bells and whistles

I switched my business to T-Mobile. All 12 lines. T-Mobile has an unprecedented 5G signal that is 70hz higher than the our next competitor. Please mention tech code 6097 when switching and you will get a special free bonus from our servers delivered right to your mailbox! T-Mobile for life!!

I retired early and switched all my lines to T-Mobile also. Saving $50 a month with free Netflix. 5G coverage is better and LTE is comparable. VZ definitly rode the "best network" gravy train too long. When all my customers starting leaving ( B2B sales) I decided it was time to leave also. Writing on the wall, I always said VZ would not fire me my customers would and it finally happened after 30+ years with this company.

I will be switching from VzW to uh hum… magenta soon. The service sucks where I live. Even with our 50% employee discount it’s money out of my pocket and guess what, magenta’s price is actually lower for all of my family plan lines. Go figure. Vz leadership can continue to gloat about it’s “premium service” but the numbers don’t lie…8,000 net adds in the 3rd quarter, down from a pathetic 12,000 net adds in the 2nd quarter. If the trend continues. I guess 4th quarter results will be subscriber loss (0 net adds) as me, my family, friends and neighbors leave Vz for magenta. So sad but that is reality.

Can’t imagine 2 service managers supporting the US post office account from the previous 5. That will be impossible. I agree about the service assurance engineers in Cary that support the wireline networks. Most are gone, service is now offshore and customers are frustrated

The T-Mobile shills on the internet are the absolute worst. No one ever switches to boost, at&t, cricket?? T-Mobile literally is as bad as Verizon coverage wise.

Does anyone know what percentage of people got hit, specifically in Cary? I take it it’s not 2%.

I am right there with you in Cary. We lost so many big money government contracts because our sales team couldn't sell ice to a man in the desert. Then to top that off we couldn't support them with the best service and fast restoration times because we have been understaffed for over a decade. Now they want to do it with half the staff now. Verizon is a giant soup sandwich.

After I took VSP I transferred all 5 of my lines to T-Mobile and never looked back. I'm paying 165/mon (33/mo per line) for unlimited 5G - plus I get a Netflix subsidy , but that's not all - approx 2 years in they offered me an additional free-line so I have 6 lines in total that one of my kids uses in an older iPhone to keep his door dash job separate from his personal line.
