Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Rank the companies in order of profit per headcount: Nvidia, Intel, Qualcomm, TSMC.

[1] Nvidia $527,000
[2] TSMC $353,000
[3] Qualcomm $217,000
[4] Intel $181,000

What would you do if you ran the company?

Calculation based on most recent fiscal year Operating Profit divided by most recent fiscal year end headcount.

The companies are not directly comparable as we have mix of fabless, Fab and vertically integrated business models.

How much do we invest/waste on AI? Nvidia is basically a one trick pony. Why can’t our GPU just copy Nvidia’s? What is wrong with our AI and GPU strategy and execution? FUBAR top to bottom. Only one explanation: Nvidia has better engineers and management.

FUBAR... sad but true. Pat spent all his time hobnobbing with Biden and other politicians in Washington (remember the State of the Union tv cameo wave by Pat?) to get government handouts for US on-shoring... should have stayed home and focused on execution.

Intel is FUBAR and big layoffs are in order, good job Pat for figuring out it and IDM or IFS as a strategy or is execution of a great layoff and even here it has started badly!

Take the company private, cut products and headcount, drop foundry services and re-emerge in the public market after we GOST (get our sh-t together... for non-Intel readers).
