Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I’m the only relationship manager in SF from my group . Everyone else is located in NY or CLT with multiple people in my position.

Does this put me at more risk for lay-off since I’m the only one in my position in SF ?

sounds like jpm is going to double down on SF and expand their office footprint here.

Are you in a core city? If not, then you know the answer.

Depends where the clients are. I assume that WF does still have clients and stakeholders in SF. I mean they haven't all left CA ... have they?

None of us know to be really honest with you . Everyone is at risk at this point even people from NY or CLT

if you're a "relationship manager" where are your clients? That's probably more of a determining factor than where your peers are.

if you're the only one with that role or job title it's technically easier to make the position redundant (no need for HR/your manager to justify and compare your position to other team members).

Yes, but I don't think a relationship manager isn't a common job title. I would ask which group, but you'd probably call yourself out.

It's possible that your role is too specialized or experienced to ax because of location strategy. You might be good for quite some time, but all comes down to LOB.
