Looking at the latest WARN notice, another 46 employees were notified on 4/15 they are being let go in Des Moines with a 6/1 termination date. For being a “core” site, this is now the 10th round of Des Moines layoffs since September. Does the whole “core” site even mean anything anymore?

Corn and Hogs. That is some funny Pooh.
It's an acronym. CORE = Center of Re--rd Elimination.
Get a clue. Core market means the line of business focuses most of their hiring there. It doesn't mean the city is guaranteed to grow or immune to any job losses from efficiency actions or automation of manual processes. We can all see that the company is getting drastically smaller and headcount reductions can come from anywhere.
Funny to watch people from NC point and laugh, when more people in NC are being downsized than IA. Newsflash, they are running out of "other places to downsize people". From here on our it will be mostly hubs being impacted.
the insecurity the cranks on here have about the coastal elites will never not be hilarious
lol look at those spammed votes. No doubt about where the crazy guy is from.
Buh bye, flyover state.
If only the employees from CLT didn't all come from obviously horrible banking backgrounds. BB&T, SunTrust, Wachovia anyone? When Wells Fargo was THE powerhouse in the banking industry, the hubs were Minneapolis/St. Paul, Des Moines, and to a lesser extent, San Francisco (corporate). The east coast breeds ignorant, arrogant people. Obviously.
Obviously there is a much better talent pool in CLT.
CLT is consolidating power
CLT>>DSM
Time to go back to core competencies. Corn and Hogs boys.
My old team was obviously, intentionally, downsized into those who are in Texas. Well, once they got rid of the oldest members. Nobody who was cut was in a non-core site.
