Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Year of flash calls, round table, all hands every other week

What a sh*t show it's been for over two years now.

Every day there's a "flash call" announcement, memo here and there, round table anxiety.

How tf are we supposed to work in peace while anxiously waiting for these calls not knowing what we are going to hear?????

Didn't knew Fidelity culture was this much messed up

Be careful… Fidelity leadership is driven by greed and not constructive criticisms. Just watch the state of corporate HR folks… all dead meats…

This is Fido culture, motivation driven by fear, anxiety, intimidation.

It's all coming from the very top, passed down to Grade 7.

The bulk of people in grade 4,5,6 have no choice but to su-k it all up and wait for the clock to run out on them.

It's been a vicious cycle since decades. Granted there's one too many bad apples that need to cleaned out, unfortunately every new leadership brought in to "drain the swamp" has become part of the swamp by giving up.

it is exhausting. my work is meetings and responding to surprise requests you can tie back to some senior level leader

What's going on, something definitely up. Looks like a re-org coming soon.

What’s agitating is that leadership has had feedback not to just throw up a “flash call” meeting. They intentionally do this to stir fear instead of putting a one liner notice of what it’s about. Like “flash call: updates on xyz”. Like I don’t actually give a flying fock if whatever c level executive decides to change business units or retiring or whatever.
