Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

We’re all on the same page

Management is the problem with the company culture. Not even sure if retraining them would be a good solution. In my department, it would be better to shut it down and start over.

I can't emphasize enough: artifacts, artifacts, artifacts! Ask each L7 and above, show the artifacts you created: Design doc, Git commits, Confluence pages...

If she/he can only show you a few private PowerPoints and spreadsheets, she/he is not doing anything

TractIT is d-mb as people will definitely lie

1 to 100 is not appropriate, it’s more likely the inverse. The pulse survey was so low last time it was canceled. I would like to see a spotlight on managers who are actually doing well. Not the hot seat thing. Idc about the execs, I need my faith in the company restored.

I loved working for Fidelity pre pandemic. I believe it could be back to that, but it’s going to be an uphill battle.

Reset is needed for sure.

BUT how does one decide on what exactly is required in terms of action items?

How do you distinguish between one bad apple vs 100 other good ones?

Fido culture has been historically bad in rewarding poor performers with promotion and good performers asked to clean up filth in other areas.
