Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

NJ layoffs

Heard this hub will get hit hard since government retracting funding after massive waste, fraud and abuse found by Doge. Who has the expected numbers? Why aren’t those in no hubs getting let go first? My team can’t get RTO exemptions because Firstnet freeloaders got all permanent virtual designation. Fire virtual ghost employees so other teams have a shot at WFH again. Serious responses only from those in the know. Peace out.

I should work for Doge. I used to work in AT&T Finance and Audit. We had to “justify” so many heads by documenting “savings” or “recovery”, it was the Wild West. Let’s see, I removed 10 $25 credits from a sample of 100, so if I multiply by our base of 50,000,000 that works out to $75,000,000 in savings. I even got a $7,000 key contributor bonus. Now, it’s a little harder to make stuff up in sales ops, but the school marm ain’t good at math.

Damn. I work on FirstNet and can't get a virtual designation. Either can the ops guy I work with that has to be on call AND still meet the 8x5 office requirement. Where are these Firstnet people you talk about?

“I’m sorry you are so d-mb and could not understand that a large organization finds ways to avoid laws they don’t like.”

They’ve already been caught and everyone knows the law now because I’ve shared it on this page a million times. They aren’t going to just “get caught” again, ya dummy!

If you all don’t know the Nj severance law by now you deserve to get sc--wed

“Also to note- although NJ WARN is a marker of a surplus of more than 50 in 30 days …. There’s really nothing to stop them from ignoring it if the employees getting notified will already have a severance greater than the law requires…. And assuming severance may require the employee to sign a legal contract to not sue the company.. I wouldn’t completely ‘count on’ the WARN Act as a forewarning.”

I’m sorry you are so d-mb and could not understand that a large organization finds ways to avoid laws they don’t like. They’ve already been caught in this at the end of last year, which is why some Dec2024 affected employees were bumped to Feb 2025.

Check with people who have received severance- I believe there is ‘standard’ release statement required.

Musk is saving the country from all politicians! These normal people enter into a political role as idealists wanting to change their state, country and leave D.C. as millionaires! I would really like to know how that happens! It's because of all this money that is being earmarked to certain special interest groups being funneled back to the politicians pockets! They're all crooks, every last one of them! Musk is bringing that to an end! Wake up people, stop watching the View, CNN or MSNBC cuz you're not getting the news, it's being withheld from you!

Any fool out there thinking Musk is their savior finding “waste” and saving “America” needs to move to Guyana before he tells you to. Read a book about your country’s history. Do anything except watch more fox 🦊 news

I believe, by law, they have to report when there are 50 or more laid off, regardless of the severance payment being greater than what the employees would receive with the Warn Act. If they don't report it, I believe the employee is entitled to additional weeks pay, but don't quote me on that. From what I have seen, the Warn Act report is updated after the people being impacted are notified.

On yesterday's surplus training call in prep for 4/28 notification and 5/12 off payroll dates, with over 250 supervisors of different levels including VPs on the call, the HR staffer running the call stated several times there are not enough numbers being laid off in NJ to trigger Warn act.

The Warn Act is triggered when there are 50 or more people laid off in a 30-day period, so you have to consider the 30 days before and after. I was in Middletown (hub location) and got my surplus notification on March 28th, and my last day on payroll was April 11th, so I'm interested to see what happens on Monday. That being said, I'm hoping for the best for all of the NJ employees.

Government has nothing to do with what ATT has been doing. They have been surplusing and trying to force rto for years and finally acting on it all. They have laid off a alarming amount of management in surpluses in the last 2/3 years and been shutting down depts and hiring people in other countries to do thr jobs. Where have you been? This is not new at all

Fake news, we were already advised those in hubs will not be impacted. It was stated that those who are not near hubs and those with virtual designations that would be targeted.

If you just very recently begun RTO in NJ then you are the target.

Rebalancing for Bedminster due to over capacity. Leadership will use presence reports, type of work- skills assessments and associated cost. So if your job can be automated or performed by someone with minimal skills then I would recommend making yourself available for other tasks that are considered essential.

As of now, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has not publicly identified any instances of government waste specifically involving AT&T. While DOGE has conducted audits and uncovered inefficiencies in various federal agencies—such as unused software licenses and redundant contracts—there is no record of AT&T being implicated in these findings.

NJ layoffs are necessary to clear space in Paramus and Bedminster. These offices are over crowded.

Hi, my name is purple hair. I’m laying in the street screaming like a made up gender because my thieving, deep state, puppet regime, did not win the election. I need an emotional time out for a year while I walk my emotional support puppy named cuddles.
Look me up at T, I have an email signature that reads like an ill coping mental patient on work release. Where is daddy bozo biden and our brown sugar bear kamala? boo hoo boo hoo boo hoo boo hoo.

Even Elon has admitted to lower expected savings. Doge did accomplished gaining access to CPNI of America citizens as well as setup himself to become the first trillionaire.

After reviewing available records, there is no evidence that the Department of Energy’s Office of Inspector General (DOE OIG) has identified or reported any instances of government waste, fraud, or abuse specifically involving AT&T. The DOE OIG focuses on oversight of the Department of Energy’s programs and operations, and there are no publicly available reports or audits linking AT&T to any such issues within the DOE’s purview.
