anyone else heard rumors of this. I heard from a friend in another dept that there was a class action lawsuit pending on age discrimination and other things….would be interested given I am in my late 50s and its inevitable that I am gonna be let go given what I am seeing. Which lawyers are handling it ?

It’s a Custody bank. It has to run lean and mean or go under.
You should be aware that prior to making cuts, the company has an outside firm look for legal vulnerabilities… as in, groups that are over represented compared to what percentage of the BNY workforce they represent.
That’s part of why the process takes so long from the time managers submit names.
So I would be surprised if any sort of class action would stand up.
If you are let go, your best bet is if you have a stellar long-time performance record.

HR definitely is aware of this site. It probably learns more about the company and how to do its job here than it does at BNY. It is why anyone using a device connected or having permissions to BNY’s apps is a de-ad duck
I swear this site gets threatened by BNY and deletes useful post and information.

There are a handful of pending lawsuits and some of the lawyers handling them are mentioned in earlier posts. I don’t know of any class action suits but they could be out there.
By the time the lawsuit goes through, it will be too late. The EC and Board of Directors are hard at work running this historic American banking institution through the ground! Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Mellon are turning in their graves! What a disgrace!
I am not holding my breath on this rumor. Even if it comes to pass, it will take years and the payout will be enough to pay for lunch at Wendy’s. This place’s best dept is legal.
