If you were laid off in Minnesota, contact the state. UHG didn’t notify the state and are required to give 60 days notice to employees if they layoff more than 50 people in a 90 day period (I believe they have). The state won’t know unless you contact them.

Even if recent VRSP targets were met, I expect that investors still need to be appeased following the 4/17 stock debacle. The only way to do that is by slashing more jobs while pretending it won't adversely affect operations and customer service.

What did a provider relations advocate do? In the field? On the phone? Contracting?

I am still tryimg to wrap my head around what happened today. I am curious to hear what they say in the upcoming town halls. They lied last month about meeting target and having to hire people now. Said we were safe and then they kick us in the teeth. They really have no idea that the tenured worker bees they just eliminated CANNOT be replaced by AI and bots just yet.

Is it the normal severance pay posted on Sparq?

I didn’t take the voluntary resignation because I wouldn’t qualify for unemployment in my state. I crunched the numbers and it was better for me to stay employed, involuntary laid off, and then collect unemployment after compared to their offered package.

I wonder if this has anything to do with all the lay offs that happened in the federal government.. :/

Yes I’m the original poster, this was under Mike baker government ops. Call outs were made this morning with layoffs, they were laid off immediately with severance pay ending on may 8th. Sup met with us saying multiple people throughout the organization were laid off…when I asked if there were additional layoffs they were not sure.

what we are hearing is that today is the last day for those folks to actually work, but last day pay will be May 8 or 9

I decided to stay in my job because if I resigned voluntarily, I wouldn't qualify for unemployment benefits in my state. It's been really stressful, and I wish the company had communicated better with us. The uncertainty creates a feeling of dread every day as I go to work.

Thoughts go out to all impacted. I left UHC long ago realizing you’re only one bad earnings report away from being laid off.

Of course they not going to be up front what purpose does that serve. They want the chaos so you leave on your own. The buyout was a nudge to leave on your own terms with cash in pocket and push out the people with alot of years and higher pay. Next wave is always a layoff even if goals are met since the real goal was total elimination of onshore. The market dump just paints the narrative to proceed with the plan all along. The markets love reports of reduced headcount to give the illusion of doing something

They just met with us saying that multiple people were laid off across government ops…not everyone is being laid off

Hey there! I have a quick question: are all the provider reps for Medicare and Medicaid being let go, including those from C and S? I thought we were informed that they met their targets and we would be safe. Can you help clarify what's happening? Thanks!
