I seem to get a new manager every 4 months. The worst part recently has been getting these people who aren't even managers who pretend they can pull rank and ask that i work over the weekend or do this or that. Then of course there's the dotted line managers who pretend also to have ownership over my soul. This place is painful to work. The managers here kinda remind me of voice actors, sound decent on the phone but if anything technical comes up they ghost you. Charlie seriously could fire 90% of the management here and this would be just fine.

Very rarely, which is great. Executives constantly change though. It's one of many reasons I don't bother listening to them anymore.
I have been here 19 years & have had 9 managers. In each position it averaged about two managers. Two left the bank on their own for other opportunities.
In the previous LOB I was in, I had at least six to eight different managers in about 2 years. Moved to a new LOB in 2022 and I've had the same manager the whole time. I've been with the bank for a very long time, and I've never had as many managers as I did between 2020 and 2022.
Invoked images of Bill Lumbergh from Office Space--> "ask that i work over the weekend or do this or that."
Yeeeeahhhh.
3 managers in 18 months.
the only constant around here is change. I've had 4 managers over the last 2 years as a result of org changes, realignments, and layering. I've seen others who have had more, sometimes its due to org changes, other times it's due to managers leaving. In almost all cases my work doesn't change.
OP, are you in COO? The situation you described sounds exactly like mine. Instead of doing actual work, people are too busy playing politics here.
Been here over a quarter-century. I'm presently in my 6th role with WF, and I've had 11 managers across those roles.
2 jobs had 2 manager changes each, which were due to reorgs and layoffs.
2 jobs had a single manger change each, due to me being moved between groups.
Outside of reorgs/layoffs management was very stable here. However, under this Wall St. management team, who TF knows. They seem to have no idea what they are trying to accomplish other than pay a bunch of executives from other banks bigger salaries to come here while pushing out a talented workforce.
4 managers in the last year
Manager 1: Had enough and just quit in April last year
Manager 2 (lasted 4 months): Had half their team taken away (including me) in realignment
Manager 3 (lasted 7 months): Was realigned to a different team
Manager 4 (current): Micro manager that worries about everything and has to schedule meetings to discuss something that could be resolved in a teams chat and loves to call people out in group meetings
Four new managers (not by choice) in about 18 months. Prior to Charlie I had three over about 4 years, two of which were my choice.
In my 25 years, I’ve had two manager changes that weren’t related to me moving to a different team.
just get your TPS reports done.
Again, so your weird situation means it's the same for everyone? It su-ks that you're in that spot, but if it's that bad take the initiative to find a new job. Otherwise, it must not be that bad.
