Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Does this board break news anymore?

I follow this board because it used to break real scoops. I found out about the CISOs leaving before it was announced both times. There used to be useful information from people who really did have information so we weren’t caught by surprise. Now it’s just people making stuff up. Did all the insiders get laid off? There have been some high profile departures and crickets here.

Every time someone does, a HY shill shows up to run cover. Ignore them and you'll see news here all the time.

The paranoid posters like to flatter themselves by claiming that the powers that be are so threatened by the insider info they're having it taken down on here...but the posts removed are always ones that were obsessively stalking an executive or political flamewars.

There are really only ever a handful of trolls on here with axes to grind with specific groups trying to stir up rumors.

I'm sure we have people reviewing this site and others with lawyers on speed dial to send out cease and disist orders

Definitely some content removal. You can visit here earlier in the day or one day, and see something interesting "break news". But later in the day (or later in week) that whole thread is removed. Other times specific posts are removed or deleted. Ive seen posts that included full exec names stay up for a long time. Others posts are removed whether they include initials, first names or last names. Posts more likely to disappear during work week than over the seeking in my experience. Censorship much?

you need to comb through the posts and comb through the garbage. Usually there is enough similar info between posts to be able to form an educated opinion. When all is said and done, it is still a large organizations with over 200k employees where each LOB gets to do their own thing, so what may be somebody's truth might not be yours.

Some of the breaking news posts have been removed from what I can tell. Recent big tech departures were posted but when I came back they were gone. I suspect it’s because their names were mentioned as opposed to initials or something less obvious. There is still a lot of really good info I find out here particularly on recent manager type threads talking about their experiences with how layoffs are done. It was detailed and very insightful. Just have to comb through the posts.

There's still some valuable info here.

You've got it. No real news surfacing on this board – no high-profile exits. The TK/BE switch might be an exception, and SH leaving quietly could be another.

However, what you might consider old news, still being employed there, is definitely news to us. The "going to the cloud campaign" evaporating, agile's demise (or the "wagile" shift), the ongoing mystery of the "location strategy," the H1B and offshoring bank immigration, and the bank's consistently declining ethics are all significant news to those of us impacted. You're living in this situation; we're not. You're conditioned to that survival mode; we aren't. The undeniable news for us is the thousands being laid off -- every other Tuesday.- To us, this is the real scoop.
