Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Writing on the Wall

As more work is shuffled off to India with each passing day, I was just notified that they are taking corporate phones away and want us to leverage BYOD. He-l no to that. Let’s cut everything here just so Charlie can get his fat paycheck.

I have been using a BYOD for 5 years. I find it way more conveniett and get the device i want. I use it for Teams and emails. WHY? Because it is convenient for me to hop on calls as i am commuting between office to home remote. So i use BYOD for my own convenience

Why tf do you need a corporate phone? Mine was taken away years ago.

Corp issued phones may be old news to some of you, but know that they are still being issued. I had mine revoked about a year ago. This year I was told that I had to have access to corporate mobile messaging apps, but I refuse to use my personal device for that. So they reissued a corporate device. So much efficiency.

They've been taking away corporate devices for a couple years now. Only some states have them due to various laws about paying for personal devices if used for work (CA for example).

Phone revoked almost 5 years ago, but still receive BCP alerts on my personal iPhone.

I am not on BYOD, these emails will simply get ignored.

Confirming with what @a4+1jsm8fnjs said, my corp cell was taken away years ago. I'm not on call for anything anymore though so I'm not using my personal cell at work or for work. My cell doesn't connect to WF or use any WF-created apps.

I do use MFA from MS, but that's different, MS already has my email data warehoused somewhere, no way to stop that.

at this point I believe is is just California employees where they can't force the issue due to various state regulations. although I could have kept mine I was tired of dealing with multiple phones and switched over to BYOD. I'd say if your job requires you to have a mobile phone then tell them they either supply the phone or no. at this point I doubt they could force you to use your own device.

They got rid of corporate phones years ago for most lines of business. The fact you still have one is the shock.
