They'll lay you off but if you're up for taking that long of a holiday, just do it.

There's somebody in a group I was in that I never saw or heard from and I think was out on some sort of leave. That person just got booted along with the rest of the team they were on.

I think they only situation where they can't legally lay you off is if you're on FMLA. But the second you come back, they can lay you off.

They don't care and neither should you.

I wanna get let go, and am doing as little work as possible. Yet, these twatwaffles keep letting go people around me who'd rather stay. It's like Omaha Beach on D-day around here.

Save the PTO and make them pay you for it. They don't care if you're on vacay or not, they'll downsize you. Won't answer your phone? No problem, they'll send a certified letter your way. Whether you get it or not they don't really care, so long as there's evidence it was delivered they couldn't care less.

I was on a 12 business day vacation with another major form years back and they tracked me down in the middle to let me know… Great Recession want so great to me.

you could be on bereavement for losing your wife and kids and they will do it.

I got told to get the bozack right in between returning from an expensive vacation and leaving on another one the following week.

But they were generous with me on the way out. Things ended well for me eventually - I got lucky.

They will lay you off. My friend was traveling in Europe & was still laid off. They don’t care. They will lay you off on your PTO day, maternity leave, bereavement, etc.

Yes, stick your head in the sand is a valid strategy. I do the same with taxes and the IRS won't do a thing.

pto or not, they will lay you off and send notification to your home email. if you think you will laid off soon, cancel and save up all PTO so you get a larger payout when they do let you go.
