Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Tons cut, brutal

So they cut like 1/4 my group. Also found out they plan to cut those not in a core location very soon. If your not in a core location expect to be cut in the next couple months, its a 100% sure thing.

I understand things are evolving fast but still have a question about 'speciality" locations for non sales staff.
for most Biz Groups and Enterprise functions, SF bay area is a "specialty" as is Boston. Do you think they will be asked to move or get cut? I mean for EF team- COO, Risk teams where SF is specialty location owing to present employees.
I don't mean digital or technology or commercial bank non sales teams for whom SF is a core hub. I think those folks will continue in SF.

You spelled "12,000 people successfully WFH every day, proving RTO is a complete load of BS" wrong.

There are still over 12,000 fully remote team members. A long way to go!

They're going to cut the non core. When they tie management's comp to it, things get done.

I can look at the numbers. There are way too many people who are still remote and not in core locations. No way everyone is in a core market by 2026.

...and then he'll start cutting at hubs. Never forget that in 2018 Portland was designated as a hub. By the end of this year all admin in the entire state of Oregon will be displaced. There's no such thing as a "hub" at WF. Hudson Yards and I&P are the only ones that will last.

Have people not been paying attention? Charlie in a townhall in December of 2023 said that everyone was going to be in core locations by 2026. Many areas have already made all of their location based cuts.

“ If your not in a core location expect to be cut in the next couple months, its a 100% sure thing.”

No it is not. There are far too many who are remote and not in a core location to cut in the next couple months. If they cut 1,000 a month just for location strategy it would still take over two years to cut all the remote and non-core location employees.

Why do so many people vague post here? How hard is it to say what group you’re in, and if you know the number, how many people got laid off?
