A bit of a backstory, I worked in M&R for 12 years under several directors, business managers and supervisors. I saw other advocates and team leads leave for one reason or another in that time; turnover is and always has been high, we all get that but there are more than a few that left because they felt that sickness in their stomach over poor leadership.
I want to make it known to one in particular that we are not hiring (you), and rest assured, I won't name shame here. You're welcome.
We absolutely do not bring in management candidates who make decisions based on emotions, who we like and don't like, or set traps for those that you want to push out the door. We also won't be promoting anyone from entry-level to a director level within a 4-year timeline without relevant experience and you should consider yourself lucky for the time you've been in the position in which you are.
"Leadership" needs quite the shake-up and while I understand the problems lie much higher than middle management, I also know that many of the core values UHG keeps parading around are displayed exclusively in email signatures amongst "leadership."
You'll be receiving an "unfortunately" email soon and I apologize for anyone that has stuck it out only to be faced with layoffs.
