Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

People are constantly expecting more negative changes

That is the difference between this company now and then. I don't remember that my colleagues ever before expected negative changes to happen, as they expect now.
Now no one is expecting any changes for the better, but they are talking about the future changes that will negatively affect us. Isn't that sad?

The cost of health insurance has actually increased by $40/month for next year (the part payed by the employee). Many employees might not notice, given all the payroll deductions in varying amounts every months for different purposes. It’s easier to notice if you’re a retiree, because you pay it separately and that makes it obvious.
The needs for executive bonuses are so high, even historical record profits are not enough to pay for them, so they have to put their hand in the employee’s pockets.

Measurable momentum in a specific direction, without any force to change direction, will continue in that specific direction.

Basic as it gets.

You missed decreased education reimbursement benefits. Maybe the newbees don’t remember but it used to be unlimited reimbursement. You could go for he best schools and it was all covered.

We all see a pattern.

We all see no effort to change pattern.

Executives will give each other Million$ and give the workers nothing, not even an assigned desk.

LOL
"EMIT constantly being over budget, panicking and decimating the number of people who we can hire or forcing downsizing of teams leading to already over worked people being obliterated by their new workload "

How true! Constantly being over and panicking... and forcing the planners to sit with stakeholders in meetings to cut budget. It's not even 2023 and I heard they are already planning to cut more than $30M of 2023 budget. Well done, EMIT planners and managers... well done

• vacation accrual update
• hot desking
• unFlex Your Day changes
• renting out of EMHC buildings
• cr-p raises, but protected dividends
• slashing expat benefits [this isn’t a new thing but a major negative]
• EMIT constantly being over budget, panicking and decimating the number of people who we can hire or forcing downsizing of teams leading to already over worked people being obliterated by their new workload
• collecting information on options to sell off the GBCs

What’s left? Decreasing other benefits like personal hours, holidays, medical coverage, fuel discount?

Why are we still here?

And likely another 8% NSI bucket come April. 10-12% at EMHC for the white collars.

The next 'surprise' you're all gonna get is how cr-p the payrises are... That'll be nice!

True, and if when the company is making an all-time record profit people realize they have nothing but bad things to expect, imagine what will happen during the next downturn…
It’s wickedly funny to read posts by im_beciles with vested interests complaining about how much “negativity” you find on this site. How about the “negativity” of EM’s entire workforce? Or maybe everybody is wrong and our beloved management has beautiful, nice surprises in store for us?

Please give KM some of the credit for the downturn in culture.

Who else would push WE3 with a surplus of office space during record profits?

PS: Also while her own private office suite is being created overlooking the buildings that she will empty so that the working class can no longer have an assigned desk

This is the new Exxon culture created by DW, NC, JW, and TG. Expect nothing but bad news. Nothing good is coming our way, absolutely nothing.

I’m just tired of different super after super. Or the manager of the group changes so often. I’m not these peoples property. Can we just get budgets and do what’s right for the business.

Good observation, I'd not recognised the change but I think you're accurate. Such a change in less than 3 years.
