Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

How long before circumstances demand otherwise?

We have no plans to return to 5 days in office unless circumstances were to demand otherwise

Don’t you all love how they give themselves an easy out? And it’s curious how the senior comittee on one hand states fluffy nonsense that positive momemtum, learning, partnership are all natural growth by being in the office (lie) and here on the other, we see possible circumstances can be demanding otherwise. That really means that they are doing this to react to something. And that something is Robin and Alejandro with the cues they take from other finance sector dinosaurs. They will go to 5 days before the end of 2026. It’s inevitable.

Some clarity for the 5 days a week question . As of 39th Juneteendary 20229 all employees will be required to work 974 days a week with a minimum of 39760 hours a week. This will be closely monitored by in built human trackers .

Wrong again 42. When I signed on eight years ago to the dump it was three days in the office, 2 at home… Also, right there in my agreement is 37 1/2 hours per week … Not 40

But you know this. You just make stuff up and try to agitate people which is a sad pathetic copy

I don't think that e-mail is considered an easy way out. The easiest way out if they ever needed to exercise one is to refer to your contract where you agreed to work 5 days in the office location you applied for. If this applies to you then I'm afraid it's you looking for a way out.

It'll be 5 eventually. They said they wouldn't go to 4 .

You know it’s going to happen. It’s just a matter of when. My best guess is by June of 2026. It could be earlier if then need to make more people leave.

100% agree.

I wish somebody would ask these je-k offs about the statement two years ago when they addressed RTO at a town hall stating it would be a massive failure if we had to go back to the office more than three days a week.
