3 Day Weekend Policy Enforcement

A company that is in debt encourages 3 day weekends and they pay for them. Another chapter in the book of how not to run a company. I have a Dr. appointment at 10:45 AM on Monday morning. It is unacceptable to log less than 8 hours each day. Coming in late with a nod from your supervisor and corporate flexibility and understanding is no more. Can’t log in remotely with VPN because it counts against you instead of for you. So from one chest pounder to another, I am “leaning into” the madness and taking the entire day off. Isn’t this cess pool great?

Mark it as illness or caregiver. It's really not fair that people who have family members get 15 days worth of hours to use but if it's for you you're sc--wed.

Use a vacation day for your appointments like everyone else.

"Why not come in as normal at 8am and just leave for your appt and then come back to the office when done? You'll have your 8 hours online."

I literally did this today. Left my computer on the desk. Had a scheduled "meeting" on my calendar.

Generally I'd take the whole day off just because the policy says it. But my doctor is only 6 minutes from the office.

OP is 100% correct. When taking a paid sick day it becomes a 3 day weekend, courtesy of T. Current policy is to our benefit and to their detriment. They actually pay us to stay home since they enacted a strict Orwellian 5x8 RTO policy. Forever the backwards thinking T.

There is very little scheduling opportunity for radiation treatments at my health care provider. I am subject to their scheduling availabilitiy.

Booking a medical appointment during core hours was yout choice.

  1. I live an hour from work on a good day, genius
  2. Dr’s appointments are literally listed on the FAQ as a valid reason for sick time. Read more

Take sick time, it’s a Dr appointment.

It literally states this on the document for sick leave on one stop.
Though it’s probably a good idea to document when the appointment is

I know it doesn't work for everyone with commutes, but if I don't get the first appt of the day or the last, I usually came in earlier than usual (since work was half-way to the Dr office anyway), then come back after to finish the rest. I could get in at least 3 hours before a 10:45 appt.

Most Dr appointments are Monday - Friday 8am-5pm.
So you need to take a seat!

T stole the 4 day and sometimes longer weekend benefit when they moved to 5x8.

  1. make dr appointments during work hours
  2. use sick time
  3. get fired for abusing sick time.

maybe dont live your personal life during the workday, like most people.
