Technically, the moment you are separated from the company you lose your status, however, I read somewhere that some flexibility of up to 60 days either to get a new job or settle all your affairs here and return home. Please consult with a layer or in the USCIS website to be 100% sure.

Also the laws are really vague about how long you can stay in the country if you lose your job with your employer. It takes the systems a few months to record your updated status so, may have a few months before you have to go back home. Look at that lunatic that attacked Pelosi's husband. He is Canadian citizen who came in on a visa decades ago. Nobody ever found him.
