Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Dress Code

I have noticed staff dresssing quite a bit better now that we are in the office less. I assume they are hoping to look more professional and get noticed for it? Leaders espexiallly.

I have been in hundreds of meetings with government and partners over the years. Our standards have slipped and these days we are almost always out-dressed by everyone in the room. It's grim. We look like buffoons.

Don't get too tied up on dressing for success, just don't smell bad bro.

Dress for success. Respect yourself if you want others to do the same. You get paid well, then look the part.

I agree, I have definitely noticed those who dress more professionally tend to advance faster, just like all the books and tips have said for decades.

Wearing denim in the office is a pretty obvious form of quiet quitting.

Dress for the job you want, not the one you are stuck in.

I still prefer the dress code for WFH - sweatpants and a t-shirt.

I haven’t been to the office in two months. How’s the vibe in H town?

@1joq. That's stupid. I always get high marks and prefer to dress in blue jeans. Maybe you should look at their job performance.

Chevron employees are supposed to be professionals and they sure do get paid as such, so why not dress the part? As a middle management professional with a team of 14 direct reports, I respect those around me who dress well. I don’t push the dress code so much, but when it comes time to make decisions of who goes and who stays, you can get the ones who are best dressed are the ones I’d give high marks to.
