Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

I wish I were laid off

I can’t be the only one feeling this way. The people who got laid off got severance and a clean break from this mess, while the rest of us are stuck picking up the slack. Same terrible bosses, double the workload...how is that fair? Sometimes I think they’re the ones who dodged a bullet.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're feeling this way. Wishing to be laid off can be a sign of stress, burnout, or dissatisfaction at work, and those feelings are important to acknowledge. If you’d like, we can talk about what’s making you feel this way or explore some options that might help—whether that’s finding ways to improve your current situation, considering a career change, or just having someone to listen. Remember, you’re not alone in feeling this way, and there are people and resources that can help you navigate what you’re going through. If things feel overwhelming, it might also help to reach out to a trusted friend, mentor, or mental health professional for support.

After 25 years of asking to be added to "The List" every time I heard rumors or layoffs, I was always told "no, not you" (why not meeee????)

Tried slacking off and doing as little as possible, but apparently my "slacking off" was still worth more to keep.

Or I was too expensive given my YEARS of service to be paid out.

Finally gave up and just left on my own. F 'em. Much happier now.

Do as little as possible, save/invest as much as you can and get the F out.

Took a year for me after volunteering. My advice - start looking for a job NOW. Do not wait.

Keep wishing it will happen before you know it. With increased workload and aggressive project timelines, and if you're working off the clock or on weekends, just make sure you're getting paid for your overtime. It's not only unethical, immoral, unprofessional but downright illegal for the bank to not pay overtime.

There’s a couple of people on the team that have been doing nothing for years and years and they’re still here. So…………

I volunteered, but I doubt it’ll happen.

Do as LITTLE as possible. It may take a LONG time but eventually you well get swept out like a pile of dust.

Ask me how I know.
