The premise behind National accounts was to hopefully gain more business from whitespace accounts. Seems the business gained from whitespace accounts has been spotty at best. You need simplified products and services to sell to whitespace accounts.
Rob Thomas is an id--t and likes to see himself in the mirror and watch his inane videos while wearing his hoodies and sneakers. Likely next IBM CEO. IBM fractured decades long customer relationships over the last 20 years by laying off client reps and paying McKinsey etc $20 to reorg IBM sales (and cut costs by 80%) into "squads" and simply looked Dell etc and said good enough for me. Zero teamwork among squad sellers. They want chat bots to sell and RCG recent college grads to sell and cheap offshore labor to sell but they surely do not want "high paid older white guys" like me to sell. IBM is now just a TLA three letter acronym most people recognize however about 5% of people asked would be able to name an IBM product or solution. It is the worst dumpster fire I have ever seem and it did not need to happen.
Do you know anyone affected or it is just a rumor?

Rob Thomas' idea of executive responsibility is to pass the buck and blame someone else for his mistakes while collecting his outsized paycheck.
You just don't want to be a Sales person at IBM, unless you are looking for very short-term employment. Maybe good to get that job while you are still looking for something more serious, but that is it.
So the National Accounts was Rob Thomas’s idea when this reorg was conducted some years ago. Is he being held accountable for not living up to expectations?
