I declined the request to move to retain my position and was surplussed. Is anyone familiar with the process or had luck securing SNAP benefits after severance and unemployment run out?

SNAP wil be going away. Get a job.
Just file for it and see what happens. You'll have to do an interview type thing on the phone with them. We got it after my unemployment ran out but just barely due to my wife's income.
Go to the closest social security office for info. You made too much to qualify probably. It’s for the poverty class. Sorry
There are asset limits for SNAP eligibility.
"Assets must fall below certain limits: households without a member aged 60 or older or who has a disability must have assets of $3,000 or less, and households with such a member must have assets of $4,500 or less." " Items that are not accessible, such as the household’s home, personal property, and retirement savings, do not count" (as assets.
Also, even if you do end up with only 3k in the bank, "Many adults aged 18 to 54 who do not have children in the home and who do not have disabilities are limited to three months of SNAP benefits every three years in many areas of the country..."
