Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

How or what needs change for employees to care?

We are getting worse everywhere I look. Mass confusion. Knowing SMEs push out for non employees who lack’s skills or leadership. Automations completing work that don’t work to make happy charts for clowns with suits. Did I mention the unethical presence report they know is flawed since day one? This is a powder key with motivation flushed and we’re being plunged with all this.

Too late for me. My capacity to care about the company or senior leadership has been destroyed and can't be rebuilt. I'm just collecting a check from here on.

Employees will start caring when the C Suite starts caring about employees.

Define, "not supporting RTO".

I work with 100% vendors that don’t care and know they make more money with rework or making mistakes. This business model of cheap labor is snowballing combined with flawed automation.

Get rid of both or correct the work that is wrong.

You’re correct nobody cares. Not even those with fake smiles and cheap motivation.

Fair promotions, recognition for contributions and hard work, wages that beat inflation, a real desk or cut RTO.

“ we know they are pretty clueless.”

Ostensibly, yes. Under the (ultra) thin veneer lies their true Machiavellian motives. It’s all about culling the herd (to further line their pockets).

Reinstate at least hybrid and getting rid of the as!nine presence report would be a start. That stupid presence report destroyed whatever trust remained here. And honestly, I hate the term rip the band-aid but we would be better off with one big massacre to get staffing where these people want instead of this constant dribs and drabs of layoffs.

Layoffs ki-l morale and constant layoffs constantly ki-l morale. You would think these people have a clue about that but we know they are pretty clueless.

And maybe stop talking about culture when we all know you don’t really give two sh!ts about it.

Morale would improve 100% if they ended the pointless RTO.

The first step is to close the call center RTO sweat shops and embrace remote work whole hog. Making that happen would require heads at the top to roll, so it is unlikely without shareholder pressure from institutional-level equity holders. However, until that happens, the company will continue to circle the drain.

Why do you care?
Are you in leadership?
If not, it’s irrelevant.

They know what they’re doing, doing be naive. This is intentional.

“Complete replacement from the top to the last employee at the bottom.”

You’re partially accurate.

Stupid OP titles his post “How or what needs change for employees to care?” then proceeds to articulate what leadership is doing wrong. You already know the answer. Put more effort into this low effort post that smells like a weak leader wrote it.
