The only investigation was a civil investigation. Neither UHG nor UHC has been notified of a criminal investigation. Witty was ready to step down last year after the changehealth debacle and name BT successor- but then - so he waited for dust to settle - which didn’t really happen so they needed to do something to try to change narrative. Execs have toyed with splitting off Optum over the years so if that happens it won’t be a new concept.

Witty escaped harm for hijinx at glaxo so he will do it again. They will settle no admission of guilt an undisclosed fine and barred from officer of public traded company.
