Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

NJ Transit strike and RTO?

Suppose NJT strikes tonight and there is no train and bus service for the forseeable future? Will we be fired for noncompliance to being in the office? I’ve seen nothing from HR on this and my boss told me she doesnt know eithet but would approve the wfh if so.
Why does HR seem reactive and comatose on matters that truly impact employees?

@k9+1jvaw6at6 - don’t believe that there’s any written policy about there being a 3 day exception max. Point us to it or stop stoking fear

Does BNY expect the NJT strike to last only 3 days, the exact number of in-office exception days we’re allowed for the year? That is, if you haven’t already used them. What would they suggest on Day 4?

There are real id..ts in this forum. They downvote a simple message that states that email was sent across along with text.

Defending a pathetic loser like the OP shows the quality of the crowd here posting messages than providing information. No wonder they all deserve to be terminated without any severance.

BNY has to clean up the work force - RV needs more help in HR

If you can't manage e-mails and text messages which are considered direct (push) communications then you should question if you're fit to work in a corporate environment.

Let's say in theory, they put a banner on MySource as you asked for, what are you going to do? Sit there and refresh it every 5 minutes?

Good morning, I am the OP. And I want to thank the commenters that were helpful with facts and guidance. For the rest, I get your points, but frankly complaining about me and that I was complaining (and I really wasn’t) isn’t helpful and just more of the same. That’s what I thought this site was about- helping each other with information. I still did not get any emails but I confess I got the text and I missed it. I reached out to HR on the missing emails and got nothing yet. You know what? Relying on Emails and texts really are like an ant in the woods sometimes. What would be better is having this kind of impact posted as alerts on Mysource or maybe Eliza could send it as a banner… but there I go complaining again I guess. I am glad to be wfh today. I hope the strike lasts for months and until I get a new job with a better place and better people!

Today is last day of RTO period. If you're so worried, figure it out and get ur a-s in the office.

If you are Agile Flex 9 exceptions/days off needed to reduce target by 2. Be careful this doesn't put you in below model

Suppose there's alternative forms of transport and you could take that? Suppose there's in-office exceptions? No NJT in the foreseeable future would be unprecedented event like COVID so I suppose it would be treated in the same manner but once it's over and back up again, you'd be expected to come in (just like COVID)... Just saying.

I received an email yesterday and today. Also received a text from BNY at 2pm indicating the probable strike and to refer to the email guidance. Try paying attention.

the mail was broadcast. It is not group or specific department .. May be OP has rules to ignore mails. The folks here are not obnoxious but are irritated by such mo--ns employed by the firm and whining in this site. No wonder Robin wants to kick out these guys.

It was not only email but Text messages were sent out. So stop defending

The poster said they didnt get any emails and apparently the manager didnt either. Why do you guys need to be so obnoxious and taking people to task? It’s bad enough we get that all day from above.

Multiple emails have been sent on this topic. Stop whining. They literally say to use out of office exception days.
