HR-related PDFs Stopped Working After Notice Period. Anyone else?

Prior to losing full Workday access and the end of my notice period I downloaded all (possible) HR reviews.

Now that I am in severance, when I try to open any of those saved PDFs I receive a message saying I cannot open the (file name) 'because it is either not a supported file type of because the file has been damaged'.

Had no problem with the file type before... And no, not all of the files could have somehow been damaged.

Anyone else in severance now have PDF files, especially reviews, that will no longer open?

Wells doesn’t put any protection on those types of files.

Did you open the locally saved copies to test them when you downloaded them or just bulk downloaded and then are testing now? When you downloaded them was it to or are they now on any kind of USB connected device?

If they weren’t tested day of and/or you placed them on a usb/ssd at any time between then and now they likely are truly corrupted. Recovery may be possible but it is beyond the scope of this post. Even without the above, depending on the health of that drive you may have gotten lucky and used bad sectors, who knows.

I just downloaded my 2024 review as a PDF. Do not see any protection on the document. Should work indefinitely.
Granted I am still a team member.

Did you download the html file instead of a pdf? If so the html file may not work.

The files are saved locally. And other PDFs work just fine, it is only those for reviews

You must be trying to open the pDF from the remote server. That is not going to work.
You have to open the pdf located on your c: drive

This won’t help you if the files are protected like that but the solve beforehand might be to… print to pdf. Use adobe online to extract to a new pdf?
