I looked at this when I got $hitcanned - based on my analysis I decided to leave $ in there - take a look at the payouts and do the math - then decide.

while you can't start withdrawing the funds until retirement you can roll it out of WF into another firm/IRA once you leave WF where it can continue to grow as tax free money until you start taking it out.

Unlike the 401K you can't take the Cash Balance pension funds until you retire. It will sit with WF until you reach the combination of age and work years to retire. For those that think it wont amount to much model your retirement to see the real value. Those of us who were here when we had a pension plan have built up pension dollars. Mine is north of $300k and I will be rolling it out when I retire in 6 weeks. Still hoping for a layoff but don't expect to be offered one.

i rolled it over to my ira after notice
period .. the check was made out to my ira provider fbo (for benefit of) me and then i forwarded to ira provider

The only access I have during the notice period is myworkday - can't login to withdraw. Am I missing something?

you can roll it over tax free just like your 401k. Put it into an IRA and finally make some money with it.

Yes, you can. Just like you can withdraw your 401K and roll it over or cash it out. You will just owe the taxes on early withdrawal.
