Att is planning to sell off all Avaya customer accounts and rest of cpe customers to a third party and eliminate the system technician title , beginning in district 3. Shopping around for potential buyers of all cpe related accounts , including office at hand. This aligns with the company’s focus to become a pure play wireless and fiber entity.

Duh. You missed the point. Nortel products (that are all end of life) make more money for AT&T than Avaya's current products.

Large Nortel PBX contracts are solid as a rock generating revenue year over year requiring very little maintenance. Large Avaya PBX customers have been dropping the maintenance contracts, moving on to other providers since Avaya's support and design services are horrible. IP Office customers will eventually go to ring central or another cloud provider. Avaya as a company has no future.

Don’t be surprised if they do sell off any portion of the company that the techs go with the sale. Easiest way to solve paying any severance. Then the affected ones get to start out on the ground floor, with no seniority, of the purchasing company. That is until they off shore the operation a year later.

Avaya is dead, just as Nortel/Cisco prem based systems. The hosted/web based apps eliminated the need for prem based systems, with the exception of some security related apps.

The union jobs are pretty safe. Let’s say they do eliminate that title…those who want to stay can bump into other titles or if they are ready to leave , they can take their severance which is over a years pay for most of them. And those that are too junior to bump ? Well , we all know they become management 🤣🤣🤣

Wrong, wrong. wrong. In out of region states businessis growing to the point we don't have enough techs for all the work. AND, they refuse to outsource any work to 3rd party vendors.

probably about 5 systems techs per state. their fiber footprint in d3 is pitiful and cell service has gotten worse in a lot of areas. the results of a goal to be an employeeless company.

plenty of jobs with other telecomms in d3 that have moved in to replace T.

I heard this as well. Re-alignment. Company will use contractors and third party entities to handle accounts such as Publix. Similar to how they service some accounts with NCR as the middleman. No need to keep legacy employees on payroll, especially ones with a pension. Between salary and benefits , the systems techs are costing approx 200k per head count and not enough cpe business to justify the cost of in house employees. Contracting is the future for this company.
