APB = Annual Performance Bonus
BU = Business Unit
VAP = Voluntary Application Process - employees can apply to be considered for the package. Each business unit gets to decide whether to offer this option. If offered, management of of the business unit decides whether to accept an employees request to be free or not.

By law, COBRA (the right to continue in the current health plan, at its full cost) has to be _offered_ (not _covered_) for 24 months. The package may apparently also be covering its cost for first 12 months.

This time around only 12 month of COBRA support is being offered instead of 18. After the 12month, you need to find your own or pay out of pocket to continue with COBRA.

@vam, are you sure? There is already a federal law that gives the right to pay for COBRA. Intel intends to pay the premiums in this package if it’s listed as some perk.

@afb, You will need to pay for Cobra out of pocket. If you have an HSA, then it can be used to pay for Cobra but not other health plans.
