Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I seriously hate this company so bad …

Like many of you that are long term VZ employees I get it. This company pays really really well for the amount of work you do. But OMFG is every manager clueless? Do someone of you feel like your becoming d-mber working here? Maybe it’s just me and this goofy group I work for ?? Idk I’ve been with this company a long time but I really don’t ever remember it being this bad. Is the company trying to make us miserable to leave?

It’s because there’s lack of transparency and communication. Everyone does what they want. Till they get slap on the wrist and move on to next position in the company

There is a d-mb field manager in Kentucky named Robertson. He only judges on who kisses up to him most. He continues to get bad marks
on the pulse surveys but there seems to be no resulting change and he just keeps on being the a** that he has always been. With all the talk of how Verizon values people someone would think that this sort o manager would be dealt with.

c8+1jvk2fhcb 100 percent true. The company prefers to retaliate, rather than address the cause and improve.

We all recognize somebody we work with or work for in these comments, don't we? If this all doesn't sound familiar, and you are scratching your head at these posts, then please please PLEASE give us all an idea of what general group you work for in Verizon. I want to identify that group and start applying to get my butt over there. Notice I said "group" and not "groups". I can't conceive of their being more than one. It MUST be a rogue unicorn that someone forgot to downsize, outsource, or mu---r.

Sounds like you are talking about “scotty_Deloachy” head of IT in Miami value segment. He encapsulates everything said in this post

If you just got rid of the india verizon segment & bring those jobs back to the USA verizon will make that 75k employee qouta there looking to have. From 2000 they had over 200,000 employees worldwide today maybe 100,000 with plans to chop more. But dont talk about the execs taking pay cuts thats just hating they shouldnt be held accountable for poor stocks or bad decisions like who does that? Right. This place su-ks just trying to finish what i started glad almost at the finish line for the youngings open your own business

So now we're not supposed to be honest about Vz EVEN HERE ON THIS ANONYNOUS WEBSITE where we come to compare notes and support each other in whats coming. Thanks c8+1jvk2fhcb... I was wondering if this site was all bots, but now I'm sure that there are true V-Teamers on here. The rampant mindset of not "bad mouthing" the company is part of why mediocre people are allowed to run it into the ground with no accountability. People need to speak up.

If you hate VZ that much then leave and work for another company. By your bad mouthing if VZ ever knew your name you would be out the door.

FiOS could have ruled Texas. The East never liked Texas. The Civil War BS ensues. FK VZ.

VZ ran off 100's.....multiple flops (OATH) lost billions. FNMC/FIOS D/FW Airport........many went to FTR/FYBR and have mostly left. A few stragglers left. TELCO died man.

When someone speaks to the quality of the personnel in Verizon, it's important to find out how long they've been in this one industry and how many other quality experiences they've had. I find that many people who've been just "making the donuts" for as long as they can remember, using the same recipe, have become normalized to ineptitude over the long haul. Also, very few people can say they've had an impact and that if they weren't present doing their job the results for the company would be very different. Without the experience of working for a good company and executing innovative work that matters, on motivated teams, the perspective is just skewed; grading on a curve.

I've been around, and I've never seen so many obviously mediocre performers elevated to so high a status. The execs here become revered as prophets, with a cult-like status, but if you interact with them in unscripted settings, you realize they haven't even had the most basic training and experience that other companies require their execs to have. Everyone talks in "foregone conclusion" short-hand and acronyms and lives in carefully-manicured presentation land, so there are very limited opportunities to see people thinking and reacting like humans. It's all performance art. ...But when you catch a glimpse behind the curtain, it's ugly. That first-name-only executive nodding their head at your preso like they are all-knowing or making excessive imperious demands or having everyone on their knees at the hint of their displeasure - they are unbelievably clueless. They couldn't even explain your presentation in-detail to you or give you basic strategic rules of the road like any kid in college is taught to regurgitate, or give you an example of a similar experience they've had where THEIR decision-making drove success. If you know what you are doing, it's very painful to experience day in and day out. No OP, it's not just you. Some of us see it, too.

My leadership is not d-mb. They are group of smart people.. only thing is that top management change their mind way too much.
We keep steering ship from one direction to another without much visibility.

Let me guess your in network operations either CO operations or Call Center ??? Those are among the d-mbest managers in the company. And yes you’re riding your time till it expires but your d-mb manager will be cut first.
