Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Most people here are just waiting it out for retirement

Anyone on a team like mine? Not many folks under the age of 50 on my team. Mostly just people who’ve been working here 20, 30 years who hate their jobs and barely do the bare minimum just waiting it out until retirement or until they get their golden parachute. Managers here only hire 50+ and the technology is old so I can see why there’s no ‘young folks’

That was my strategy. I actually postponed my retirement when the layoffs started. Took a while, but I finally got a nice severance to kick start my retirement!

Boss is frustrated I challenge their house of cards, screams at me to quit, so I do (quietly). After, keeps asking me to finish work while trashing me behind my back. Nope. Can’t wait to punch out. You get what you give and I wanted to work hard, you broke that agreement, not me. fu

For that to really work he'd have to offer additional severance beyond the norm, otherwise why not wait for the inevitable downsizing and get paid for that time? He'd have to sweeten the pot, and Shart would never ever do that. Just doesn't have it in him. He wants to dump us all as cheap as possible, not throw more money at people. What's comical is people at the nonhubs that have already been warned they will be downsized are really standing strong. Hardly anyone is leaving these locations voluntarily, so the plan to tell people that they'll be canned "someday" as a means to motivate people to leave on their own has failed miserably. The Barn, Jax, Boise and the rest showing us all how it's done. Severance or death.

Charlie should offer voluntary severance to all employees over 50 that are in remote areas. Many of those persons see the writing on the wall that they will eventually be let go and are just hanging on doing very little work.

HY ki-led the culture here, olds are looking to retirement and/or severance, kiddies just look at it as a temp job before they find their niche elsewhere. It's the inevitable end result of Sharts tactics.

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I have really bad gas right now. It reminds me of the hot summertime gas you'd smell as a kid in that house without A/C when dad would lean to the side to release the gas.

It won't be practical for me to run to the restroom every time I feel pressure down there. Which means, those around me will need to be tolerant of the odors today. If time allows, I will examine my diet to look for areas of improvement.

Thank you

Maybe a little respect for those who worked at WF when there was no way to “coast” and no HR to protect whiners

It wasn’t that long ago really that it was that way but now that coasting is an option just do it like all the younger ones do anyway
