Return to Office

Hearing rumors that in addition to what I’ve already read on this site about a June layoff that there will be a Return to Office 5days per week by EOY. Anyone else hearing the same?

@1hm working from home over 25 years, and thanks for the extra money once a month in my check. Let's do another 10 years

RTO is going to 5 days sooner than that. It’ll be end of summer. It’s an industry standard. Everyone should be in the office everyday.

They almost have to do 5 days by eoy. If there is a strike next year and everyone continues wfh until then we can’t send management employees outs for strike duty. They can’t expect people to go from a few times a month for half days to 7 days a week 12 hours per day for the duration of the strike. Not to mention those who don’t have child/pet/elder care during working hours. It was hard in 2016 when people worked full time.

@OP Looks like going from working from home to "hybrid" like one or two days a week at least with some groups.

LOL, OP. The RTO Scare postings are getting old. Can you please come up with a new rumor to scare us?

We were only doing 3 days in office before Covid why would they make us go back to 5?

RTO is definitely going to 5 days a week soon. Upper brass know that WFH is not productive for the employees. Has never been and never will be. Layoffs are coming soon too as there are too many people doing simple jobs on the back end. With people basically doing 30% of the work from home that they could do in the office, there is no need to have these employees at home when an on site person is doing the work of 3 people.

Absolutely not, I heard the exact opposite as recently as this week from someone really high in the chain.

Been 3 days per week here. Our VP and Sr Dir sits locally. They want us to be a pod but they are always gone on on closed doors. When doors open they wanna talk. That is the only reason. Keep us at 2 but 4-5 is silly. Even 3 is pushing it

There isn’t enough office space, they aren’t going to make a decision that involves spending more money.

No. You’ve said this before, practically word for word, since 2020

It can’t happen soon enough.

It would open all kinds of opportunities for those of us that are actuating following the current Hybrid model.

What about those who are still home based? Will they continue to work from home while hybrid employees have to return 5 days a week?
