My manager fired me

I just got let go by my manager. My manager told me my performance is inconsistent. Anyone in the same situation?

@gn+1jvspvnfy. That is why the bonus is discretionary. If your manager tells you "Next year it's not guaranteed", that is a MAJOR hint you aren't on the "Favorites" list.

You can't lay off someone then hire H1B without trouble. Managers fire US workers to hire more H1B.

Wells Fargo has a bunch of worthless employees and none of them are canned and you know why? It's because they make people happy see at Wells Fargo it's not about what you know it's about the friendships and egos you stroke managers are insecure beings who do a lot of risk avoidance they want to claim the accolades but don't want to put their names on the lines if it's not 100% guaranteed success.

If you were fired it means that there was nobody you made happy no one on your team not even your manager and that says a lot cuz there is a lot of lines of businesses that have people who may have been experts in 1982 but in this climate you wouldn't trust them with a magnetic badge to go through a rotating door but yet they're able to stay because they smile and they stroke egos

Let this be a lesson to you that in your next job it's not about what you know it's about happiness it's about friendships you got to smile at these people and stroke their egos managers are insecure beings who get paid to bark orders but couldn't lead a donkey to a stable and they're the first ones to abandon you to save themselves when The fire gets too hot and for the rest of your life you're going to have to play the double-edged sword.

Sorry it happened to you good luck and take note that more than likely the negative comments that you're getting are probably managers who live and breed the Wells Fargo ethos.... To be a manager at Wells Fargo is like joining a cult

That's how things worked 5 years ago. Now management is being pressured to manage people out after any kind of corrective action. They take your merit, and if that doesn't motivate you to quit on its own, they'll find other ways.

Fired or laid off? They are totally different things. Fired means you did something very bad and got kicked out with no severance package. Laid off means you were simply downsized with a severance package.

I’ve heard PIPs are often pretty tough to recover from once you’re on one and they’re often just a CYA formality on the way to canning you. Nevertheless, I doubt many people get fired for-cause who didn’t have plenty of advance warning that it was coming.

No one gets fired unless they did something unethical or illegal. Poor performance results in a performance plan, employees are given opportunities to improve. Guess you didn’t. It’s your fault take responsibility and move on

Having been here for more than a quarter-century, you have to go out of your way to fsck up bad enough to get walked out of the building. People don't get fired here without very good cause. Even then, you'd probably just get PIPed unless you did something seriously bad.

I'm so sorry you were let go. I go in everyday expecting to get fired. Why? Because the atmosphere is so volatile I really think they would rather fire people to weasel out of paying severance. There's alot of people I know getting messed with. Like seems like pressuring people to quit, or they want to fire them. They have QA nitpicking people and the new QA people seem to be international and just doing what they're told. I'll just leave it at that. Again, I'm sure you didn't deserve to be fired. Go immediately to your state's unemployment office. Get your unemployment. Thinking of you.
